Dr. Dawn Dunkerley is focused on improving organizations to achieve critical business objectives and balance cyber risks while optimizing investments. Her research interests include cyber warfare, cyber operations, cybersecurity, and the success and measurement of organizational cyber-focused initiatives.

Dawn has published extensively in the field, both in academic and trade publications, is a noted speaker on cyber topics, and serves as a Subject Matter Expert and Exam Developer for the International Information Systems Security Certification Consortium (ISC2) for a number of industry-leading certification exams.

Innovator and Leader: Integrated cyber threat intelligence in support of 125,000 Army Soldiers, Civilians, and Contractors; Led effort to identify and assess active threats, vulnerabilities, and risk associated with Army Cyber Key Terrain and primary coordinator for Cyber Protection Team efforts supporting Major Army Command; Led implementation of a ground-breaking strategic Cyber Mission Assurance Plan.

Subject Matter Expert: Demonstrated broad expertise in cyber tools, tactics, techniques, and procedures to support and defend the US Army and the greater Materiel Enterprise against foreign computer network operations (CNO) threats; cutting-edge knowledge of computer network attack (CNA), computer network exploitation (CNE), information operations (IO), and information warfare (IW) TTPs.

Nominee for 2009 Army Information Assurance Professional of the Year; 2011 ISC2 Government Information Security Leadership Award; Nominee, 2016 Department of the Army Civilian of the Year Award.

Building Teams in Complex, Mission Critical Environments: Built and led multiple planning and crisis action teams that addressed unprecedented IT and cyberspace-related issues in the Department of the Army, with outcomes that directly improved national security.

Dawn holds a PhD in Information Systems, an MS in Network Security, and a BS in Information Technology.
